Arrow Spoilers from Kreisberg

Becky | Arrow

As an added bonus, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg sat down to answer questions, so here are some high points of what you’ll see in Wednesday’s all-new episode and beyond.

  • With Laurel finally knowing Ollie’s alter ego, she will definitely be a changed woman, which harkens back to another character finding out last season.

“It’s funny because it was sort of the same experience with Colin Donnell’s character,” Kreisberg explained, “where once he knew it changed his character so much. There was just so much more you could write for him and just the way he looked at everything in the world, every scene just became super charged, even if it was  small scene that didn’t have anything to do with the main plot.”

  • Scenes moving forward with Ms. Lance will have a much different feel, he previewed.

“With Laurel, now that she knows, whatever she’s doing, whenever she’s in a scene with someone, her world view has shifted and it’s different and I think Katie [Cassidy] has really risen to it and it’s real exciting to see how it plays out in the last 3 episodes.”

Kreisberg appealed to the iconic comic book pairing as being like “Lois and Clark” – “they can break up, get together, sleep together, break up, get married, get divorced, she forgets him,” he points out… but he did admit that with the success of the show, “Lauriver” is one of those things that they can take their time on.

“It’s always our desire to just speed through story,” Kreisberg admitted.” I think the fans appreciate that, just blowing through things and not [saving] like ‘well, we’ll do that in Season 4.’ No. We’ll do that now. On the other hand, the one thing success has enabled us to do is to slow play some things, and I think that we’ve really adopted this mantra – we give people what they need, even if that’s not what they want,” he explained.

“Having Oliver and Laurel get together in Season 1 was what people needed then, but then they needed them to go on a break, so Oliver can have his storyline with Sara for this season, which is what felt right to us. He has women in his life. He has Laurel, he has Felicity… Helena’s doing a 10-to-20 stretch… so I think that Laurel will always be one of the closest people to him, whether that’s romantic or not,” Andrew continued.

Kreisberg is well aware that some fans have questioned decisions and the sanity of the folks bringing Arrow to life, and that inevitably, some fans will be upset, but there is a plan. “I think that a lot of the things that we have done, have been leading up to what we’re doing in the finale, and then moving that forward to Season 3,” he said.

Does Laurel actually believe [Slade]?

Becky | Arrow, News

Is Laurel going to confront Oliver about knowing his secret on Arrow? — Billy

It doesn’t sound like she will jump right into action. “Does she actually believe [Slade]?” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says. “Laurel’s reaction to hearing that news is going to surprise people and it will also validate people’s faith in her character. For all the people who love her, they’ll love her even more. Maybe some of the people who didn’t love her will change their minds.”

Totally Clever + Gallery Updates!

We have a new interview with Katie thanks to Totally Clever! Katie visited the show, and seemed to have a really great time playing Family Ties with the two hosts. She also talked about Tomboy KC, Arrow and what’s up next for Laurel.

This is definitely her season of, you know, her journey. We have always talked about the show being legitimate and Oliver becoming the Arrow had to go five years on the island, and you know for every character who supposedly at some point turns into a superhero, has to go through their island. I definitely think this is Laurel’s island. And there’s a lot of good, juicy stuff coming up, some very shocking things that… I was surprised even reading. It’s amazing stuff and so cool, so fun.

Also earlier this week Vaunte launched Katie’s closet on their website, meaning that now you can shop her style on their webpage, it’s really cool! They also posted a few new photos for the profile, and those, along with screencaps from the Totally Clever interview are now up in the Gallery!

Arrow: “Suicide Squad” + Coming Up Next

This week’s episode gave us a glance at Laurel on her way of recovery, trying to solve the issues around her with honesty, trying to support Oliver and Sara. She only had three short scenes, all those can be found on our YouTube Channel, and the screencaps of the episode have been uploaded to our Gallery.

Of course the promo for the new episode (all new on The CW next week!) has been released as well. The episode is called “Birds Of Prey” and based on the episode stills and description we got, the plot will be pretty Laurel-heavy. YAY!

To make matters worse, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is picked to try Frank’s case, putting her right in the path of Helena. Oliver tells Sara (Caity Lotz) he will handle his ex-girlfriend, but when Helena takes hostages at the courthouse, including Laurel, the Canary will stop at nothing to save her sister. EP Marc Guggenheim Talks Laurel & The Huntress

Becky | Arrow, Interview

What can you say to tease the return of The Huntress on the “Birds of Prey” episode? Who will she be now, when we see her again?

GUGGENHEIM: It’s been literally a year, in story time, since we’ve seen her. One of the things we told Jessica De Gouw, who plays The Huntress, was that we weren’t interested in treading over old territory with Helena. What we pitched her was the idea that basically Helena Bertinelli is gone. The only thing that remains is The Huntress. It’s been a year of her literally scouring the world to find her father, who was on the run at the end of Episode 17 of last season. We really wanted to show that wear and tear on her. We even aged up her costume a little bit, so you really get the sense that she has been traveling the world and literally has just spent a year killing people to try to get at her dad, and it’s done quite a number on her soul. We get to explore all that, in a really fun episode that also deals with Laurel Lance, in a very big way. One of the things we wanted to do with the episode was give Laurel her groove back, as it were. We have obviously taken Laurel down a very dark path, this year. As we started to see at the end of last week’s episode, she’s going to start turning the corner. And this episode with The Huntress is a very big move in that direction.
